Barbara Flynn

Barbara Joy Flynn, born on August 5, 1948, is a distinguished English actress whose career has spanned several decades. She gained initial recognition for her role as Freda Ashton in the ITV drama series *A Family at War* from 1970 to 1972. Flynn's versatile talent led her to portray the milk woman in the beloved BBC sitcom *Open All Hours* (1976–1985) and the character Jill Swinburne in *The Beiderbecke Trilogy* (1985–1988). Her impressive resume also includes the role of Dr. Rose Marie in the quirky BBC series *A Very Peculiar Practice* (1986–1988) and Judith Fitzgerald in the acclaimed ITV drama *Cracker* (1993–1995). More recently, she captivated audiences as Mrs. Jamieson in *Cranford* from 2007 to 2009.

In 2021, Flynn made a notable appearance in *Doctor Who: Flux*, where she played Tecteun, a key figure in Time Lord society and the adopted mother of The Doctor.
