Gary Martin
**Gary Martin: A Versatile Voice in Theatre and Animation**
Gary Martin, born into a family with artistic roots—his father being a singer and his mother an actress—embarked on his performing career early. By the time he finished school in 1975, he had already appeared in several commercials but sought a more stable profession. He quickly assembled a cabaret act, launching his career on a cruise ship at just 17. In 1976, he made his West End debut in the iconic musical *Jesus Christ Superstar*, following intensive training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Over the years, Martin showcased his talent in various prestigious West End productions, including *The Rocky Horror Show* in 1979, where he played a memorable role, and lent his powerful voice to the character of Audrey II in *Little Shop of Horrors* in 1983, which he characterized as a "deep, black, Harlem voice." His impressive resume also features roles in *Cats* (1987-1990), *Miss Saigon* (1989), *Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat* (1990), and *Grease* (1993).
In addition to his theatrical accomplishments, Martin transitioned into voice acting, gaining widespread recognition for his work on campaigns, jingles, and animated features. Notable projects include *The Neverending Story III*, *FernGully 2: The Magical Rescue*, and *Corpse Bride*. He earned a Talkie Award for his role as Judge Dredd on BBC Radio 1 and has lent his voice to numerous commercials and film trailers across both American and British markets.
